Learn about REFORPOST GLASS FIBER
REFORPOST GLASS FIBER
- Parallel glass fiber post.
Indication
- Support of restorations and prosthesis.
Advantages
- Parallel shape with grooves: great retention.
- Metal filament allows radiographic visualization
- Longitudinal fibers: easy removal.
- For use with Peeso (Largo) drills
- Optimal ratio between fiber and resin: high strength.
- Modulus of elasticity similar to dentin's: lower risk of root fracture.
- Glass Fiber: high esthetic resolution.
- Direct use (prefabricated): saves clinical time and decreases lab costs.
- Post 1 reamer 3 – post2 reamer 4 – post 3 reamer 5
- Conical tip less tissue removal in apical third of root
- High concentration of fibers
- Flexural Strength: 900 MPa
How to Use
- Select the pin using the template and the periapical x-ray of the tooth.
- Remove some of the root canal filling with heated instruments to the predetermined depth, leaving at least 3 to 5 mm of filling at the root apex.
- Prepare the canal with the drill corresponding to the diameter of the post.
- Place the post and cut it at the desired limit using a diamond drill at high speed under refrigeration.
- Clean the post with alcohol and dry it.
- Apply a layer of silane (SILANO ANGELUS®) and let it dry for 1 minute.
- Clean the canal with an air-water spray and dry it with air and absorbent paper points.
- Etch the canal with 37% PHOSPHORIC ACID for 15 seconds, then rinse and dry with air and absorbent paper points.
- Apply bond and cure, then dual cure cement.
- Insert the post into the canal, remove excess cement, and wait for polymerization. Auto-adhesive cements eliminate the need for acid conditioning and adhesive application.
- Perform conditioning, apply adhesive on the remaining crown and the post, and build the crown core with composite resin.

Frequently asked questions(FAQ)
Answers to your questions and inquiries about the product
What is the advantage of a post with a conical tip?
The parallel-sided shape of Reforpost favors its mechanical interlocking with the root canal walls. Its conical tip allows less tooth preparation at the apical third, saving dentin in this area.
What drills should be used with Reforpost Glass Fiber?
- Post 1 Largo drill number 3
- Post 2 Largo drill number 4
- Post 3 Largo drill number 5
What are the steps for the cementation of Reforpost Glass Fiber?
Post preparation: clean with alcohol, apply silane (Silano Angelus) for 1 minute, apply the adhesive.
Root canal: acid-etch (37% phosphoric acid for 30 seconds), wash with water, dry with absorbent paper points, apply the primer, apply the adhesive, place Reforpost with resin cement (Cement Post Angelus).
What is the advantage of a serrated post?
The undercuts increase the retention of the post with the cement.
Why does Reforpost 1 have a smooth middle part, without undercuts?
Its thinner diameter and, consequently, less fiber, could render Reforpost 1 more fragile. So its middle part is smooth, thicker and stronger.
What cement should be used with Reforpost?
For the cementation of glass fiber posts, self (chemically)-cured only resin cements (Cement Post Angelus) are the best recommendation.
